The Holiday’s In Your Mouth

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, no doubt about that. It gets your metabolism going and helps you stay satisfied all day so you don’t binge at lunch.

Whole grains in general is a great way to start the day, and in the fall and winter months I love a good bowl of oatmeal! But I don’t like the boring oatmeal…..I want it to taste like the old school, “maple and brown sugar” or “apples & cinnamon” oatmeal without all the sugar. So I’ve created my own combo that gives you amazing flavor and all the healthy benefits of oatmeal.

You need:

  • 1/2-2/3 Cup of water
  • 1 packet of TJ’s instant oatmeal complete or any kind of oatmeal you like (steel cut is great too!)
  • 1 spoonful All-natural Peanut Butter (I prefer unsalted, but up to you)
  • 1 spoonful TJ’s Pumpkin Butter (only sold for a limited time so STOCK UP!)
  • Sliced bananas or chopped apples
  • Dash of cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice (optional)
  • Chopped pecans (optional)

Add water to the dry oatmeal packet and cook for 30 seconds. Stir in peanut butter, pumpkin butter and apples or bananas. Microwave for an additional 45sec-1min. or until oatmeal is the consistency you like.  Enjoy as is or add chopped pecans, walnuts or nuts of your choice. You can also add a dash of cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice although you really don’t need it. If you prefer to do steel cut oatmeal or any other oatmeal you cook on the stove, just stir in the ingredients as the oatmeal is thickening.

It taste like the holidays in your mouth!! It gives you whole grains, protein and fruit in one meal, but it tastes sinful 😉 Enjoy!
